able Strikes The Right Note With Festival Goers
The launch of a town centre box office ahead of this year's 44th Harrogate International Festival, the North of England’s leading annual multi-arts event attracting over 90,000 people, was something of a harmonious affair thanks able's consultants. When called upon to generate a bit of noise around the event, the able team used a giant electronic floor keyboard and karaoke-style projection unit, situated in front of the town's major shopping centre, enabling people to make sweet (and not so sweet) music as they walked by. Kids, adults and media alike got into the swing of things. Crowds flocked to test their toe-tapping musical skills providing the perfect opportunity for the Festival's organisers to promote their events and sell tickets.
Consultancy For Consultancies
Three marketing communications consultancies, based in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and the West Midlands, have benefitted from able communications's consultancy in recent days. One sought help building the managing director's profile amongst the business media - eventually handing the able team an ongoing contract; one required specialist marketing planning and advertising negotiation skills to help convince a new client of their big ideas; and the other needed some help with technical copywriting to supplement their own resources when a big project came along unexpectedly. If July's level of business for these consultancies is anything to go by, post emergency-Budget, confidence is on the rise at last!
MD Becomes Charity Trustee And Long Distance Runner In Same Month
Neil Bent, founder and managing director of able Marketing Communications has had a busy last six weeks or so. But that's nothing compared to the challenge that now confronts him. In June he became a Trustee of Home-Start High Peak, the local arm of a national charity which supports families as they try to build better lives for their children - trained volunteers support parents who are struggling to cope with things like post-natal illness, disability, bereavement, economic hardship, the illness of a parent or child, or social isolation.
And in the same month, as a way to mark his very personal achievement, losing in excess of 100lbs in weight over the last 3 years, he entered October's 'Birmingham Half Marathon' with the aim not just of finishing in under two and a half hours but also of raising some much needed funds for the Home-start cause. No mean feat for an occasional jogger! With an intense training schedule and a target to break the £1,000 barrier ahead, he'll need plenty of luck to accompany his hard work.
